For years, when it came to making artwork my toolbox usually consisted of just a well-sharpened No.2 pencil and a few clean sheets of paper.  Using just these materials, I was able to create some really nice looking drawings that my friends and family enjoyed seeing and gave me a sense of accomplishment.

The only downside to this is that I have a really bad habit of starting a drawing and not finishing.  I know that a lot of artists do this, but for me it's not a matter of losing my inspiration or the drive to complete the drawing, it's a matter of...cleanliness.  What I mean by that is, usually when I end up finishing a drawing, the drawing itself would be perfect but the paper would be a complete mess due to my habit of almost constantly using a eraser.  This is always discouraging because I would have an amazing drawing that I was proud of but looked like I had run it over with my car.

In order to get rid of this problem I have decided to get with the times and trade my pencils and paper for a digital drawing program, I don't have it yet because I need to get the money first but this is what I am going to do.

I have also decided to learn how to use DAZ3D Studio, it's free and even though most of the add-on's cost a bit, I can still find some free stuff to add to the program.  CG artwork is something that has really had an impact on me and I figured that I would take a shot at it myself.

Right now I'm just trying to get familiar with the program but once I figure out how to use I will start uploading whatever I come up with.

Peace.

Oh and one more thing,

I finally received my Bachelors Degree for Music!  Now I'm working towards getting my Masters degree for Jazz Guitar.

Large Art Dump

2 min read
Yesterday while I was taking a break from watching the livestream of Bronycon I decided to help my mother clean out her ceramic shop.  In her ceramic shop my mother found my old art portfolio from school, artwork that I had made back in 2002-2004 and wanted to know if I still wanted to keep it.  I looked at some of the artwork and some of them had been exposed to moisture and were slightly damaged.  But surprisingly most of them including some watercolor paintings were untouched! So I took my old pieces of art and have decided to share them with of deviantart.

I will be uploading photographs of these artworks, some of them have water damage or were contaminated by ink bleeding from other works because of the moisture they were exposed to.

I hope that you will enjoy these works as much I have upon finding them again.

As for new artwork I have been working on some pieces, pencil drawings mostly and most of them are of MLP characters so fans (bronies) will get a kick out of them.

I have also decided that I will be buying an art software for my computer so I can create much more cleaner looking work.

Hello, so far my summer has been pretty dull.  I have been trying to spend it improving my guitar playing and training my ear in preperation for the music courses I will be taking in august when I return to college.  It's been a long time since I picked up a pencil and started drawing anything.
I'm thinking of buying a art program to use on my laptop but I am not sure which one I should buy and what else I should get in order to use it.  If any one has any recommendations for what I should get, let me know I would really appreciate any helpful information.

I hope to upload more artwork soon, how much I can't say.  It's a matter of how much time I devote to starting something and making sure I complete it.

To any one following my art page, I will keep you posted.

Hello!

Well I finally decided to upload some of my artwork.  So far the only new work in my gallery is the Derpy Sketch.  The other artworks however are almost 6 years old and from my high school art class.  After finding my old portfolio buried in my room I decided to put them on my page so I would have something to show.

Hope you like them.

Steve
